Jim Haylock, AusNet Services Regional Customer and Community Manager, is shown below presenting a cheque to GERF Deputy President, Doug Caulfield, kicking off the GERF fundraising for the coming fire season.
“Being part of the Gippsland community, AusNet Services sees the positive impact the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund has in helping Gippsland residents manage the effects of natural disasters. We are pleased to be able to once again provide some assistance to the people in need within our community with a cheque for $5,000. Hopefully this cheque will provide some welcome funds to help with people’s immediate needs for goods, clothing, utensils, furniture, bedding, etc, when Mother Nature deals us an ugly hand,” Mr Haylock said.
This is the second time AusNet Services (formerly SP AusNet) has provided a substantial donation to the fund – the first time was early last year when they were able to provide a $10,000 contribution to the Aberfeldy Bushfire Appeal.
Doug Caulfield expressed the Fund’s gratitude to AusNet Services for their continued past and future support. “The Fund relies on the generosity of the Gippsland community – both the people who live here and the businesses that operate here,” he said.
